Did this race exactly 1 year ago only found out about results last night 11th place but I don't really like the number 11 I still remember that morning got a call from Mum right after I collected my medal that grandma fainted but I was due to meet friends later in the evening so I didn't go to the hospital but felt nothing bad about that Tris slept over the night before we were told to report 1.5hrs before flag-off time which was 0700 Dad drove us there and we arrived some time between 0530 to 0545 dropped our bags of at the bag stations and did warm-ups with the guys and queued for the toilet before walking to the starting line where we found about every other runner already there and we were all the way at the back when the barriers lifted it became a stampede said to Tris "we should have gotten there earlier" ran along pavements and roads and the beach lost Tris somewhere on the sand patch I hate running on sand overall it was a good morning run getting pumped for Sundown next May 21km let's go guys
